CSC Mentorship

The CSC Field of View Mentorship Program is an ongoing program that aims to make the cinematography profession more inclusive and foster diversity behind the camera. Priority will be given to individuals who come from traditionally marginalized groups, though candidates from all backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply.

The Canadian Society of Cinematographers

The Canadian Society of Cinematographers, is a not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1957.  Its purpose is to foster the art and craft of cinematography and imaging professionals at all levels.  Its mandate supports a full agenda of training, education, mentorship and the dissemination of the latest in technical and product information.

WHISTLER FILM FESTIVAL - WOMEN IN FOCUS MENTORSHIP

The Whistler Film Festival’s Women in Focus Mentorship program offers up to five female and/or non-binary filmmakers the chance to receive focused mentorship from an experienced executive producer.This mentorship is designed to help participants prepare for and navigate the market experience at the Whistler Film Festival + Content Summit, supporting both career and project development. Eligible applicants include filmmakers based in British Columbia who have projects in development, can include features and short-form episodic series.

GEMS - Gender Equity in Media Society - Vancouver

Gender Equity in Media Society Vancouver (GEMS) is a member-based organization committed to creating gender equity in film and television. Previously named Women in Film and Television Vancouver (WIFTV), GEMS incorporated in 1989 as a not-for-profit society registered in British Columbia. By addressing systemic barriers, GEMS works towards supporting more inclusive, representative media.

CSC Workshops

The CSC is committed to providing professional development in the form of workshops for its members, organizing learning opportunities at various levels from novice to masters. Workshops are open to members only, unless otherwise posted.

In addition to partnering with CSC sponsor companies to present discussion events regarding current technology and applications, the CSC has developed its own highly regarded series of specialist training.
